The Millennium-series consist of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" (2005, UK release in January 2008), "The Girl Who Played With Fire" (2006, UK release in January 2009) and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest " /"Castles in the Sky" (working title) (2007, English title not confirmed, UK release in late autumn 2009).
Stieg Larsson started writing the novels in 2001 and didn't make contact with a publisher until he had two finished novels and had a third one under way. In an interview short before his death, Stieg Larsson described his writing as his “pension insurance”. Larsson died in Stockholm (9 November 2004) at the age of 50 of a massive heart attack.
32 countries have already bought the rights of publication of Millenium. The three novels were sold to 2,7 million copies in Sweden, 1,5 million in France, 800.000 in Norway and Denmark, 600.000 in Finland and 400.000 in Germany. (July 2008)
